Yes. If I leveled the board, then I'm comfortable with leveling the new frets with my 19" long beams. But if I'm just leveling old frets, the 19 incher can really end up grinding frets at one end, both ends, or the middle (depending how straight I can get the neck) too much. I like my 8" for frets in a less than perfect board.
