Mar 22, 2008. #18. For a slat mill, they have roller skate wheels. Usually metal, but newer models may use sythectic wheels to keep the noise down. The carpet mill isn't as easy as it looks. Millmaker & the Colby's have years experiance in building mills. ( Angles, dimensions, technique, as well as hind & foresight.)

The slat mill does not offer this because if he lifts a pad or if he is lifted the belt momentum will keep that belt spinning. The amount of turns depends on the mill. But for me, and it may be trivial, that is wasted time. I want work with every step. But again, it is just one tool and it takes a lot of tools to build a house.

OldFortKennels. I have helped make carpet mills and its not that hard. Frame it up and use plexiglass on the sides so the dog cant jump out. We used 4inch pvc pipe front and back at about a 30degree angle. We used laminated wood between the pvc to reduce surface tension. IT was a decent mill, especially for the money.
