The engine is stuck on the chassis at the moment. It's not unusual that the screws seize into the alloy mounts and so they will need more work. The engine that is on the car is the Novarossi/Rex C12. Its extensively the same engine as the Tamiya CX-12 but just has a different head and a Rex branded crankcase.

Firstly the prefix on the engine name denotes side or rear exit on the exhaust, FR = rear, FS = side. FS-12LT is visually similar to the FS-15 and the FS-15LT fitted to early cars like the TR-15t, TG10's and Mad Bison etc. The FS-12 usually has 12 in black ink on the side casing opposite the Tamiya logo. That does wear off though.

Engine in yours is the FS-12SS. Piston and cylinder part number is 7684129 and that and the FS-12SW (extensively the same engine) is the only piston and liner that will fit from Tamiya. The piston from the O.S CV-12RX will also fit as its the same engine with a few tweaks. O.S made the engine for Tamiya. The O.S part number is 21253010.
